I Am, You Are

Just for fun, curious to get back what I had forgotten, I began rereading Arthur Koestler's book The Ghost in the Machine as an eBook from Kindle. I had forgotten a lot. By the third chapter, I was losing the thread, so I started over again. Strangely, it takes on a slightly new meaning each time through. I'm pretty sure Arthur isn't in the computer editing what he wrote; but what I get from his words is changing with each iteration.

If you have been reading and paying attention to my blog notes, you may remember something I suggested awhile ago.

Existence has two aspects, being and becoming.
1. Being: how things are.
2. Becoming: how things change.

Obvious, isn't it.
Obvious enough to miss,
and therefore worth a verse.
Pay attention.

No new words here.
Just old words made new:
being and becoming, the dyad of existence.
Two more old words: beginning and ending.
Beginning: not being, but becoming.
Ending: being, but not becoming.
Then writing,
stretched between beginning and ending.
Like this:
beginning
w...r...i...t...i...n...g
ending.
Writing, I am being and becoming.
I am. I am.
You too, Reader.
Pay attention.
R...e...a...d...i...n...g,
you are being and becoming.
You are.
